RptCM Reporter

RptCM characteristics

  • The key reports for the capacity and performance management
  • Not 200 pages of details, but a few pages with the key numbers
  • The key numbers in the correct order
  • The key reports are ready for the spread sheet processing or shown grafically
  • Not manually, but in batch automatically over night
  • Using SMF's 7x-records, extracted with MXG (MXG is the product of Merrill Consultants)

RptCM Reports

  • CPU Usage and Goals vs Actuals by Importance (SCP)
  • CPU Usage by Workloads (self given) and by Classes (WKR)
  • Transaction Characteristics (TRX)
  • General Capacity Numbers by Classes (CAP)

  • LPAR CPU% and Analysis by Weights per Period (LPA, LWU, LPM)
  • CPU Summary by Workload and per Period (SRU)
  • Transaction Summary by TX-groups and per Period (STX)
  • Transaction Distribution Summary by TX-groups and per Period (SXD, SXX)
  • I/O Summary by Workload and per Period (SRI, SRD, SRT)
  • CPU, Structures, Requests -reports of the Coupling Facilities (CF)
Reports are per System, per SysPlex or per a given collection of Systems.
Reports are for a peak time (like: SCP, WKR, TRX, CAP) and
as a day's profile per period (like: LPA, SRU, STX, SXD, SRD, CF).
